I have a full, clean driving licence and carer insurance with public liability along with a current DBS certificate and am fully vaccinated. I have a degree in Modern Languages, a masters in publishing and speak French and German fluently and basic British Sign Language.
Care courses completed include the NHS fast track health and social care course for Covid 19 which included Awareness of Mental Health, Dementia and Learning Disabilities 2020; Basic Life Support; Coronavirus; Data Protection; Duty of Care eLearning; Autism Awareness; Epilepsy Awareness; Food Safety Level 1; Health and Safety; Infection Prevention and Control; Awareness of Mental Capacity Act; Level 1 Awareness of Safeguarding; Managing Medicines; Moving and Handling; Food Hygiene and Safety Level 2. I successfully completed further courses in Diabetes Management, Dementia Awareness, Dignity in Action, Medication Competency, End of Life Care, Infection Control, Nutrition Awareness, Pressure Ulcer Prevention and First Aid with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation in York.
In addition to experience with dementia care, I have cared for children and young adults on the ASD spectrum as well as with type 1 diabetes and associated autoimmune diseases; coeliac's, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and thyroid disorders.
